Fresh Foods Kiosk (FFK)
The FFK enables supermarket customers to place orders for any of the fresh foods departments without having to wait in line. Customers place their orders soon after they enter the store. They then continue their shopping trip around the store and, when finished, stop by the pick-up areas to retrieve their freshly prepared orders before heading to the check out. The FFK combines easy navigation using minimal touches, with an attractive interface showing graphic images of each product, and a number of unique features, such as Up-Selling, Accessible Order History, and Discount Coupons, to make the customer's shopping experience truly enjoyable.
Mobile Fresh Foods Kiosk (MFFK)
The MFFK is a mobile version of the Fresh Foods Kiosk. It is meant as a line-busting tool that enables fresh foods associates to take orders directly from customers waiting in line using a hand-held device. The MFFK has all of the same customer friendly and sales enhancing features of the FFK, but it delivers them on a mobile device that gives the fresh foods departments the highest level of flexibility when it comes to handling the workload during heavy peak times.
QDriver Queue Management & Optimization (QD)
QD interleaves incoming orders from the counter, the FFK(s), and the MFFK(s) so that all orders are processed in first-in-first-out sequence. As a result, customers can use their preferred order channel and still be assured that their order will be prepared as expediently as possible. All orders go into one central queue that is managed via a touch screen computer by the fresh foods associates. Overhead, customers can see their position in the queue on an LCD monitor that is frequently refreshed to show the most up-to-date status for all orders. The concept of Managed and Un-Managed queues, unique to QD, enables the retailer to focus their queuing hardware investment in the area with the highest traffic, while still integrating other areas into the overall queueing scheme. |
