ADUSA and myScaleDown launch New Electronic Scale and Diet System Website
6,000 Hits on New Electronic Scale and Diet System Website Since Late December; 3,000 of them in past three days
by Juan Perez, president and chief technology officer, Adusa, Inc.
Lombard, IL, January 9, 2002 – While still in BETA-testing, from Dec. 18, 2001-Jan. 6, 2002, 3,000 people visited the new electronic, online diet-site, myScaleDown.com. In the three days since it has been up and running, an additional 3,000 people have visited the new site. It was developed by Adusa Inc., based in Lombard, IL.
At the heart of the system is the first-ever interactive scale, one that plugs directly into home computers and works on carpets, as well as hard surfaces. Each scale has its own privacy number to connect, in total confidence, to myScaleDown© without any software or disc installation, for a weekly monitored weigh-in.
Developer, diet-expert and veteran-dieter, Harvey Brandt, of Arlington Heights, IL, who has worked with more than 20,000 dieters, said he's delighted at the unexpected response. He says he's pleased to be able to help Chicagoans and others shed their dubious distinction on the Men's Fitness "Fattest Cities" list, as their residents shed excess pounds.
The myScaleDown© system also offers The Choice Diet, or subscriber/members may use their own diets; and, it offers an online community with diet-experts and a dietician for support. One other unique aspect of the new system is that it will offer the same technology and support to those who wish to maintain their weight and to those who are trying to gain weight.
The system will accumulate and display a running tally of combined total pounds lost by all members.
Also on the site is a link to a first-of-its kind extension cord. It is 18-feet long and features three plug-in receptacles at intervals along its length. It was developed by Nextep, Melrose Park, IL. Those who need extensions can use it with the scale.
Costs of the scale and plan are: The Smart Scale ($149 MSRP); $59.95 when purchased with a three-month membership; $69.95 when purchased with a one-month membership; $149.95 for the scale, without membership purchase. The introductory three-month prepay-plan is $9.95 per month--or $19.95 a month, for single month memberships.
